Is Mobile Marketing Worth The Education

Posted in September 4th, 2010
by Lucy Walker

Mobile marketing Leeds can be a tough industry to get into if you don’t have all the necessary information to appropriately hit the market. It’s wise to fully research into the method of marketing you wish to endeavor upon, as wasted resources can leave you out of pocket if it’s not suitable for what you’re selling. Here is some information on marketing using mobile in the primary SMS method.

Traditional

It’s carried out in two different ways. The first is short code and the second is long code. Short code has increases in popularity as a method of communicating with potential consumers while they’re present at the appropriate events, in store and from a traditional media. It is comprised of 5 or 6 digits numbers that get assigned by the mobile operators for brand campaign use and all applications are thoroughly investigated before they are carried out.

Long code is simply the use of the full international phone number format, allowing businesses to use their own numbers, instead of having to share it with other brands. It’s primary function is for non-premium inbound messages, allow it to replace short code in that respect.

Untapped

Bluetooth is somewhat untapped in that only a few companies in the world have made full use of its capabilities. It has several major advantages, such as the high-speed transfer and radio-based technology allowing for free of charge distribution. It is mostly used as a hotspot content distribution method.

App Store And The iPhone

The iPhone has brought about new methods of marketing in the mobile genre, as it effectively combines the Internet and the mobile phone into a single device. Previous phones capable of this didn’t have the popularity, nor the technology, to do so as incredibly well as the iPhone and as such, it’s become a good location for marketing. Taking advantage of the software such as the sliding system, marketers can create campaigns specific to it. Additionally, it is also possible to use the app store to deliver content through, either directly or through the apps being sold there.

The HTC Legend Is A Legend Of Its Time

Any smartphone which calls itself Legend is bound to generate a lot of interest among the masses. In case of the HTC Legend, however, people were more interested to know how different this phone would be from the HTC Hero. The good news is that, this phone is unique in more ways than it is similar to the said model.

The USP of the Legend is that it is the first product from HTC which has Android 2.1 and Sense UI. But, before you get to know that, be prepared to be floored by the awesome aluminum chassis and the 3.2″ OLED screen.

Smartphones are generally not known for their toughness, but this one is and it can survive a bang on wall (as demonstrated during its launch)! However, the aluminum surface can be a bit of a scratch-magnet and you will do well to use a cover or case for protecting it.

Going on to the screen, you may find that it’s appearing larger than the actual 3.2″ dimension, mainly because the bezel has been reduced in a clever design move. The OLED display is capable of amazing color reproduction and maintaining great contrast ratio without the need for backlight.

Under the hood, the HTC Legend has a 600 MHz processor, which you may think is a tad less for a smartphone, but you will be surprised at the rate in which you can perform various tasks at great pace.

You now have seven customizable home screens to play with, thanks to Sense UI. Add and remove widgets to customize them and view the screens all at once if you want.

Video capture and playback is good, though not in 720p (HD) as some may have hoped for.

Whether it becomes a legend or not, is something only time will tell, but right now the HTC Legend has the looks and performance to rock you!

Tips on using the HTC Legend? Find out how you’ll get the most from your mobile phone.

Some Rules For Sms Courtesy

Sending a message in place of a call is a great advantage of having a mobile phone today. The popularity of text messages have been growing since their invention. Young and old use this service to keep in contact with people and to send brief notes to one another. That is why it is important to remember that like with other forms of communication, courtesy is needed, SMS etiquette is important although many forget that.

One of the most aggravating things to a lot of people is trying to decipher a message. Using shorthand is acceptable, you want to keep the cost down on your message but be able to relay the message you want to send at the same time. So leave the slang to the younger generation, if you are over the age of seventeen, radical shorthand is likely to be unreadable and inappropriate.

Text messaging is just that, messages or notes you send to another. There is no rule that someone needs to reply immediately and in most cases it isn’t possible. Don’t get frustrated and upset if your message is not replied to right away. Just because you have your phone on you doesn’t mean the person you are sending to does. Avoid sending the same text over and over trying to get a reply. If your message is that important, placing a phone call should be done.

It is truly necessary to remember common courtesy, even if others don’t. It can be upsetting to be with someone that is constantly on their mobile talking with others and leaving you waiting. Don’t repay that rudeness with rudeness of your own. Avoid sending messages to others while with company. If you must send a message to someone try to do it discreetly and quickly so you can get back to your company and enjoy them.

Text messages are just that, messages. They are informal forms of communication and should not be used to dump your girlfriend or boyfriend nor for conducting important business and formal invitations. This is a casual form of a communication and a text message is not the place for critical and major life issues and events, it can make one sound flippant or callous despite their intentions.

A problem today with texting is the overtexting syndrome. This is when someone is constantly texting another throughout the day, outside of normal texting conversations. You have to look at texting as you would a phone call, would you phone the same person twenty times in one day? If you wouldn’t but are starting that many texting conversations in one day, you may have overtexting syndrome.

Being able to send a message home, to friends, or in to work quickly is a convenience that many love and now can’t live without. It is easy, simple, and cheaper than a phone call in most cases. But it is also easy to throw common courtesy out the window and forget your manners, which is why a few simple SMS rules of etiquette need to be remembered to keep this convenience an enjoyable one.
